Virginia y Carlos, junto con María, la cocinera, nos hicieron sentirnos muy a gusto durante esos días. Destacar los desayunos que fueron muy variados. Las habitaciones son muy amplias y cómodas y ya ni hablar de las vistas, qué impresionantes!! Desde la piscina se disfrutan de unos atardeceres espectaculares, donde se respira paz y tranquilidad, siempre acompañados de unos buenos cócteles. Pacific Kalokairi is even more beautiful in person, with such a peaceful atmosphere, incredible views, and amazing surroundings. It has a very private, retreat like feel that made the whole experience so relaxing. The pool deserves its own mention because it was genuinely one of the best pools I’ve ever been in. I could have stayed there the whole day. What really made this place unforgettable though was the staff. Everyone was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay making you feel like home. You can tell they truly care about creating a special experience for the people staying there, and everything felt very natural and relaxed. Had the chance to see a family of monkeys swinging through the trees! so   surreal and such a special memory and experience. And of course, you can’t forget Charly ❤️ getting greeted by him every morning made the place even more special. This place truly made my experience in Costa Rica unforgettable. The pool, spa, and massages were 10/10. The restaurant is excellent as well with many good seafood and land options. Virginia was super nice and her dog Charity is a great hotel mascot. From the moment you arrive at Pacific Kalokairi you are pampered.  The service is impeccable, the food is delicious and the views / sunsets are just incredible. I cannot say enough about the staff and how incredible they are so sweet so kind and helpful on helping you plan your trip they gave us tips on things to do. This stay was incredibly private.  if you’re looking for something that is a very different experiences this place has a very retreat like feel. I don’t think that there could have been anything better to be honest. The pool is incredible. We almost had it to ourselves every day we wanted to see monkeys so bad on our trip and we didn’t plan very many adventures because we were wanting more of a relaxing trip but on our last morning here we were greeted with a family of monkeys while we ate breakfast they swung from the trees, such a cool experience. We will definitely come back. You can’t forget about Charlie either the resort Dog makes this place even more special. We got a good morning greeting from him every day such a sweet old guy.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What a lovely find, Pacific Kalokairi!  Gives you both some quiet forest and access to the beach.  Very unique rooms, ours looking towards the Pacific.  Virginia, Carlos and the staff were amazing at meeting every need, offering direction for our interests.  We spent some days in Tamarindo on the beach, some at the gorgeous infinity pool.  Nights; dinners in town and romantic dinners by the pool.  Food quality was amazing, and service lovely. Took a day excursion to Rincon (volcanic activity, hike in the rain forest) de la Vieja National Park and even tried surfing in Tamarindo on another day.  Thank you for our lovely experience!

 Verified Una semana increíble en un lugar muy especial Hemos pasado una semana increíble en Pacific Kalokairi y no podemos estar más contentos con la experiencia. Cogimos dos cabañas y las vistas a la piscina y al mar son simplemente espectaculares. El entorno es increíble, rodeado de naturaleza y con la posibilidad de ver monos, algo que hace la experiencia todavía más especial. La piscina, con esas vistas, es el lugar perfecto para relajarse y desconectar, parece que se para el tiempo y sin duda la puesta de sol allí te deja con la boca abierta. Además, está muy cerca de Tamarindo, donde hay un ambiente increíble, y también hay playas preciosas muy cerca para descubrir y disfrutar. Queremos destacar especialmente la atención de todo el equipo, que fue increíble durante toda nuestra estancia: siempre amables, atentos y haciendo que nos sintiéramos muy cómodos. Nos dijeron muchas recomendaciones de lugares, playas, etc que podíamos visitar. La comida y los cócteles allí de 10! Es de esos sitios que tienen algo especial y que, de alguna manera, te atrapan.  Verified Celebrating 20th anniversary Can’t say enough about our stay. Virginia, Maria, Carlos, Francisco and of course our sweet sweet Charlie made our stay feel as if we were visiting with family and not just staying at a sterile hotel. Virginia and Carlos each had great advice on excursions and restaurant recommendations in town. Maria, Virginia’s mother, is an incredible cook who I had the honor of learning from in the kitchen. If you enjoy cooking and want to learn how to cook delicious, simple food, in an environment that feels like home I DEFINITELY suggest you sign up for a cooking class with her. You won’t be disappointed. We didn’t rent a car and honestly didn’t miss it as the roads in Costa Rica, especially around the resort are all unpaved and pretty rocky. The hotel has a shuttle service that leaves at 10am to go to the town and picks you up at 2:30pm from town and then another that goes down at 6pm and returns at 9. If you don’t make the shuttle you can very easily order an uber. It’s cheap and very easy. The rooms are gorgeous and clean and the ocean view is absolutely stunning. We will be back with our kids in a few years when they are old enough to make the age threshold of 18+!

 Verified Pacific Kalokairi is a Dream! Nestled in the jungle with ocean views... Pacific Kalokairi is a dream destination. Only 5 minutes from downtown Tamarindo and the beach by car, you get the best of both worlds. The architecture of the rooms (houses, really) is lovely. And having breakfast and snacks alongside the infinity pool is a treat. Wish we could be transported to that setting on stressful days at the office. We also really appreciated our massage therapists, who loosened all the tight muscles from our busy NYC lives. And last, but certainly not least, were the wonderful Virginia and Carlos! The two of them bent over backwards to make our stay relaxing and stress free, and made it seem like no bother at all - really sweet people, both of them. The rest of the behind-the-scenes staff were also very friendly. Can't thank you guys enough!

 Verified Peaceful retreat We had such a wonderful stay here. Last time I was in Tamarindo was 20 years ago, and a lot has changed, but it's always a great idea to stay up in the hills away from town. This is a peaceful setting and a bit hard to reach, but well worth it. The cabinas are modern and the views incredible. We chose a side facing the east mountains and were treated to beautiful sunrises and sometimes monkeys in the trees. The staff is kind and gracious, and the food is simply incredible.  Verified Incredible place and incredible people We were taken care of from the time we arrived till the time we departed. The room was very comfortable with a great view of the ocean. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious and fresh and the evening choices were delicious with fun cocktails. The infinity pool was refreshing at anytime but especially after a day of fun activities. Saving the best for last, Virginia, Maria and Carlos (and others who I do not know their names ) took wonderful care of us, frequently anticipating our needs. They gave us great advice as to where to go and when and pointed us in the right direction for restaurants and shops in town. We can’t wait to come back.

 Verified Wonderful stay in private, serene and quiet part of Tamarindo Have the pleasure to stay several days in Pacific Kalokairi in January 2026. Was taken away by the beauty and serene location of the hotel, it is surrounded by nature with modern facility at the hotel. Staffs are so friendly and helpful especially Virginia and provide best services. Room is spacious and modern, with extremely good Wifi connection.  Verified Hidden oasis above Tamarindo This is a magical hidden oasis above Tamarindo. If you’re looking for a get away that is figuratively far away from the craziness of the Tamarindo beach, but literally close enough to drive there in 5 mins, this is it. Four of the bright and airy cabinas sit high above the beautiful infinity pool, and are well appointed with king beds, walk-in shower, TV, AC, desk, coffee/tea station. For such a small place, the restaurant offers an incredibly diverse and delicious menu. We enjoyed breakfasts, lunches and dinners there, and were never disappointed. The chefs are very talented. Virginia and her team … including Carlos and Charlie (the assistant manager and black lab) … were friendly and professional, yet made us feel instantly welcome. Thank you for a great visit. If we come back to Tamarindo, we would definitely choose Pacific Kalokairi.

 Verified Peaceful & Beautiful It’s been over a week since our return back from our amazing vacation. Our stay at Kalokairi was nothing but relaxing and tranquil. From the moment we arrived to the day we left. It truly was a great experience! Comfortable beds, clean and very modern. The views were stunning from our ocean front room. The food was so good we had dinner there every night. Thank you to the chef that put her heart into every dish that came out. If you don’t make the shuttle you can very easily order an uber. It’s cheap and very easy. The rooms are gorgeous and clean and the ocean view is absolutely stunning. We will be back with our kids in a few years when they are old enough to make the age threshold of 18+!

Pacific Kalokairi is a Dream! Nestled in the jungle with ocean views... Pacific Kalokairi is a dream destination. Only 5 minutes from downtown Tamarindo and the beach by car, you get the best of both worlds. The architecture of the rooms (houses, really) is lovely. And having breakfast and snacks alongside the infinity pool is a treat. Wish we could be transported to that setting on stressful days at the office. We also really appreciated our massage therapists, who loosened all the tight muscles from our busy NYC lives. And last, but certainly not least, were the wonderful Virginia and Carlos! The two of them bent over backwards to make our stay relaxing and stress free, and made it seem like no bother at all - really sweet people, both of them. The rest of the behind-the-scenes staff were also very friendly. Can't thank you guys enough!

Peaceful retreat We had such a wonderful stay here. Last time I was in Tamarindo was 20 years ago, and a lot has changed, but it's always a great idea to stay up in the hills away from town. This is a peaceful setting and a bit hard to reach, but well worth it. The cabinas are modern and the views incredible. We chose a side facing the east mountains and were treated to beautiful sunrises and sometimes monkeys in the trees. The staff is kind and gracious, and the food is simply incredible. Highly recommend for a peaceful retreat and recharge.

We spent a week at Pacific Kalokairi and absolutely loved it. We spent a week at Pacific Kalokairi and absolutely loved it. The setting is peaceful and remote, with incredible views and beautifully designed rooms that make it easy to slow down and relax, yet it’s still just a short drive into Tamarindo when you want a little action. It really feels like a hidden gem. What made the stay special, though, was the people. Virginia and Carlos took amazing care of us and made us feel completely at home. And Charlie the dog quickly became part of our daily routine, a definite highlight. On our last morning, a troop of monkeys showed up and serenaded us from the trees, the perfect Costa Rica farewell. If you’re travelling through this area and want an eco friendly place that’s quiet, beautiful, and genuinely welcoming, don’t hesitate. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat.

Incredible place and incredible people We were taken care of from the time we arrived till the time we departed. The room was very comfortable with a great view of the ocean. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious and fresh and the evening choices were delicious with fun cocktails. The infinity pool was refreshing at anytime but especially after a day of fun activities. Saving the best for last, Virginia, Maria and Carlos (and others who I do not know their names ) took wonderful care of us, frequently anticipating our needs. They gave us great advice as to where to go and when and pointed us in the right direction for restaurants and shops in town. We can’t wait to come back.

Wonderful stay in private, serene and quiet part of Tamarindo Have the pleasure to stay several days in Pacific Kalokairi in January 2026. Was taken away by the beauty and serene location of the hotel, it is surrounded by nature with modern facility at the hotel. Staffs are so friendly and helpful especially Virginia and provide best services. Room is spacious and modern, with extremely good Wifi connection. Overall stay is amazing and would book again in a heart beat.

Hidden oasis above Tamarindo This is a magical hidden oasis above Tamarindo. If you’re looking for a get away that is figuratively far away from the craziness of the Tamarindo beach, but literally close enough to drive there in 5 mins, this is it. Four of the bright and airy cabinas sit high above the beautiful infinity pool, and are well appointed with king beds, walk-in shower, TV, AC, desk, coffee/tea station. For such a small place, the restaurant offers an incredibly diverse and delicious menu. We enjoyed breakfasts, lunches and dinners there, and were never disappointed. The chefs are very talented. Virginia and her team … including Carlos and Charlie (the assistant manager and black lab) … were friendly and professional, yet made us feel instantly welcome. Thank you for a great visit. If we come back to Tamarindo, we would definitely choose Pacific Kalokairi.

Peaceful & Beautiful It’s been over a week since our return back from our amazing vacation. Our stay at Kalokairi was nothing but relaxing and tranquil. From the moment we arrived to the day we left. It truly was a great experience! Comfortable beds, clean and very modern. The views were stunning from our ocean front room. The food was so good we had dinner there every night. Thank you to the chef that put her heart into every dish that came out. Thank you @carlos for talking us out of going out for pizza the first night :)!
